cinema with six theaters with a total of 1.200 seats and a restaurant with a terrace over the water
The cinema is situated in the old industrial port area of the city of Dordrecht and is part of the development of a new cultural and entertainment area. The architecture and design of the cinema refers to the harbor architecture, as well preserved in the area. The cinema has a powerful, symmetrical main layout and a design in robust materials such as brick, steel and concrete.
On the plaza and entrance side, the building has a relatively closed façade, constructed mainly of brick. In contrast to the front facade, the facade on the waterfront is completely open, with the terrace taking maximum advantage of its waterfront location.
Within the building, the theater experience and the dynamics of the cinema are maximized: the routing and spatial structure is aimed at allowing visitors to meet and interact visually as much as possible.
