new school in Carnisse
De Kameleon in Rotterdam-Zuid will get a new school building with gymnasium. The new building will be realized a few meters next to the existing school building and is the starting point of the redevelopment of the Carnisse island, commissioned by the BOOR foundation.
The new building on Carnissedreef, can accommodate all approximately 500 pupils and sports facilities. The design includes a gymnasium with public access in addition to classrooms, learning squares, library, preschool, out-of-school care and a large playground. A striking feature is the footbridge, which connects the school and the gymnasium and also connects the new building with the green hinterland. In addition, the realization of the bridge creates additional space for a beautiful playground at ground level.
