transformation of conservatory into luxury hotel

In Amsterdam's museum quarter, investor Alrov has developed the luxury Conservatorium Hotel in collaboration with IQNN Vastgoed. The hotel is located in a national monument, the former Rijkspostspaarbank, later Sweelinck Conservatory, on Van Baerlestraat. The hotel has 129 rooms and suites, a brasserie, a specialty restaurant, and a bar. In addition, there are facilities such as a holistic spa, fitness center, conference center, and underground parking. Six luxury shops are also located on Van Baerlestraat. The conference rooms are located on the upper floors of the atrium in the courtyard.

OIII architects assisted in the development of the contemporary interior design by Italian designer Piero Lissoni, both architecturally and interior-wise. This was a challenge in which the aesthetic desires and technical requirements had to be brought together, while always striving for the highest possible quality for the user. Developing this monument into a hotel was quite an achievement, in which it was very important to respect the character of the building. The expertise of OIII architects in the field of research and integration of different disciplines, combined with intensive collaboration, contributed to a remarkable end result.
